WHY: The Island Men is an all-volunteer 501.c.3 non-profit group of local men whose broader purpose is to increase camaraderie amongst the men of Pleasure Island and the surrounding area by helping local charities through our fundraising efforts. We are also organized to strengthen our community through participation in community projects to help improve the quality of life for our fellow residents and those who visit our island. The Island Men currently awards five $2,000 dollar scholarships to individuals in our area who are attending an accredited program of higher education through a 529 program that we established in 2020. To date, The Island Men have awarded $27,000 in scholarships to local residents. The hope is to raise money through the golf tournament, with the help of our sponsors, local businesses and your participation to enable even more individuals to reach their goal of obtaining higher education.
