The annual Island Men/Steve Reavis Scholarship Golf Outing is a fundraiser that helps support our Educational Scholarship Program (The Island Men Scholarship Foundation) which focuses on helping local graduating high school students and those already enrolled in a 4-year University, a Community College or a qualified Trade School. Currently, the Island Men designate six $2,500 scholarships (one $2,500 scholarship is specific to Cape Fear community college and applied for through their program) in our budget every year to support the program and hope to expand this amount in the future with your help. To date, the Island Men have awarded over $52,000 in scholarships.
In 2026, the annual scholarship has been renamed to honor one of the founders and a cherished Island Man who recently passed away, Steve Reavis.
